pre-Treatment Instructions

● do not apply retin-a, renova, tazorac, topical prescriptions, and/or differin 7 days prior to and 7 days after your treatment, to the treatment area or as instructed by your physician or registered
● do not apply any aha's, bha's, or physical exfoliants for 72 hours prior to
treatment.
● do not sun tan or use the tanning bed 2-4 weeks prior to and 2-4 weeks afteryour treatment.
● wear a 50+ spf and have no active sunburns.
● stop any type of depilatory treatments (waxing, depilatory creams) to the area of treatment, 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after.
● stop electrolysis, and any type of laser treatments (laser hair removal, ipl, etc) to the area of treatment, 2-4 weeks before and 2-4 weeks after your treatment or as instructed by your physician, registered nurse or certified aesthetician at tiev.
● stay hydrated and drink plenty of water! this is particularly important with treatments such as rf microneedling, sculptra, and prp.
● must not be on accutane for a minimum of 6 months prior to treatment, though please disclose if you have a history of being prescribed accutane, particularly in the last 12 months.
● avoid other facial treatments and procedures 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after to your appointment, unless specified otherwise by your provider.
● no surgery in the area of treatment within 12 months.
● be sure to inform your care provider if you have ever had cosmetic tattoos or cosmetic pigmentation or permanent makeup applied near the area of treatment; if present, treat at least two (2) finger breadths away from the tattoo. cosmetic tattoo pigments may react to laser, causing unwanted darkening of tattoo ink.
● avoid unprotected sun exposure, self-tanning products, and tanning booths for 4 weeks prior to treatment. sun exposure decreases the effectiveness of the laser treatment and can increase the chance of post-treatment complications.
● remove all makeup, creams, or oils prior to treatment.
● disclose any medical history, conditions, diseases, disorders, infections, medications, and allergies to your provider to ensure you are safely cleared for your treatment (especially any changes).
● disclose if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. -
● a careful assessment should include, but is not limited to, patient ethnicity, dermatologic, and medical history. the depth and pattern of the pigmentation and presence of discrete pigmented lesions should be well noted. ascertain if the patient has received any previous treatments, the method of sun protection used, and outcomes.
● do disclose patient ethnicity and medical history to your provider as darker melasma and fitzpatrick iv-vi patients may require more treatments. additionally, a less aggressive approach to treatment and a longer duration of time between treatments is advised for these patients to allow for tissue response and healing. ensure that the patient can return for long term follow-up visits to assess efficacy.
● note: melasma and hyperpigmentation can be aggravated by the following: skin injuries such as sunburns, scratches, cuts, and picking at pimples. other factors that aggravate melasma include: heat exposure such as saunas, steam rooms, sun exposure, heating fitness classes. irritation, blue wavelengths of light from cell phones/computers/tablets, waxing, and a lack of spf use and reapplication -
● old tattoos will appear dull, blue, indistinct, and blurred with time. these visual changes correlate with the ink particles moving deeper into the dermis, as well as out of the dermis through phagocytic activity. new tattoos are more superficial and have sharp, distinct lines, and in many cases, bright colors.
● superficial tattoos may require fewer numbers of treatments for clearance; however increased density and thickness may require more treatments for clearance.
● do not treat newly implanted tattoos for a minimum of three (3) months is preferable.
Post-Treatment Instructions

● swelling, itching, tenderness, and bruising is normal after injections
● avoid vigorous activity, exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and Jacuzzis for 24 hours
● avoid blood thinners such as alcohol, Vitamin E, fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen for 48-72 hours after treatment
● if you are experiencing discomfort, you may take Tylenol.
● avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks.

● avoid laying down for 4 hours after treatment
● allow 2 weeks for your neuromodulators to kick in fully
● avoid working out or sweating for 24 hours after treatment
● avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 12 hours
● do not get a facial, cosmetic treatment, or massage for 2 weeks after your TOX Treatment.
● maintain cleanliness of the treated area for 24 hours after treatment
● avoid touching/massaging the treated area unless otherwise instructed
● assessment of results can take place after 2 weeks

● avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 12 hours
● icing treated areas approximately 10 minutes every hour for 24-48 hours will help reduce swelling
● allow 2 weeks for your fillers to settle and before judging your result, however 4 weeks for full results.
● do not get facials, cosmetic treatments, or massage for 2 weeks after your filler treatment.
● unevenness and lumps/bumps may occur in the first two weeks. This usually resolves after two weeks. Bumps that you can feel may be present and can be common, however, if it is visible please notify your provider. Massaging may be advised, please follow your provider’s instructions.
● patients with a history of cold sores may experience cold sores after lip fillers.
● for Nonsurgical Nose Jobs, please avoid sunglasses, glasses, applying pressure, or rubbing your nose for 2 weeks.
● bruising, itching, redness, swelling, and some discomfort is normal and usually mild, please allow the full 2 weeks for bruising and swelling to subside, though sometimes may take longer. Swelling and bruising is typically at its peak the first 3 days and gradually improves after that.
● for sculptra: massage the treated areas 5 times a day for about 5 minutes for 5 days after treatment.

● first Few Days: Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing over the next few days. Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or using exfoliants for 1 week. Apply sunscreen daily and you can use makeup if needed starting the day after treatment.
● avoid the use of retinols, acids (such as glycolic), and other highly active products for 72 hours.
● avoid partaking in activities that will heat up your skin, such as going in a hot tub, jacuzzi, or sauna, taking a very hot shower, or strenuous exercise for 72 hours after treatment.
● keep the treated area clean: avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive exercise, sweating, swimming, chlorine, or exposing skin to heat and sun.
● do not get a facial, cosmetic treatments, or massage for 2 weeks after your filler treatment or otherwise instructed by your provider.
● sunscreen: It is very important that you use sunscreen to prevent discoloration and sun damage to the skin while it is healing. Use sunscreen daily for at least 3 months after your last treatment. The sunscreen should offer broadband protection (UVA and UVB) and have a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside and reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that covers the treated area.
● your skin will be sensitive for the first week or two after treatment. Do not use products that will irritate you during this time. Please do not use any scrubs, toners, glycolic acid, retinoids.

● 4 hours post-treatment: cleanse the skin using the gentle purifying cleanser provided in your post care kit. rinse with cool water and pat dry. using gentle pressure, apply 1st post peel towelette to areas where the peel was applied. discard towelette and wash hands. wait 10 min, then apply a thin layer of post treatment repair cream from your kit. 1 hour before bedtime | follow the same steps as shown above, applying your 2nd post peel towelette. sweet dreams! do not apply anything to your skin for 4 hours post vi peeltreatment, including an spf. stay out of direct sunlight.
● for precision plus and purify precision plus: 1 hour before bedtime | cleanse the skin using gentle purifying cleanser. rinse with cool water and pat dry. locate the towelette labeled precision plus post-peel towelette. using gentle pressure, apply to areas where the peel was applied. discard towelette and wash hands. wait 30 min, then apply the 2nd post peel towelette. do not wash off. • wait 10 min, then apply a thin layer of post-treatment repair cream. sleep tight!
● day 2: morning • cleanse the skin using a gentle purifying cleanser. rinse with cool water and pat dry. • apply a thin layer of post-treatment repair cream. reapply as often as needed. • apply vi derm spf 50+ sunscreen, even if it’s not a sunny day. reapply throughout the day. 1 hour before bedtime | cleanse the skin using the gentle purifying cleanser. rinse with cool water and pat dry. • using gentle pressure, apply your 3rd post peel towelette to areas where the peel was applied. discard towelette and wash hands. • wait 10 min, then apply a thin layer of post treatment repair cream. sleep tight!
● day 3-7: morning - peeling or flaking usually begins • cleanse the skin using a gentle purifying cleanser. rinse with cool water and pat dry. • apply a thin layer of post-treatment repair cream. reapply as often as needed. you may apply makeup if desired, a mineral makeup is preferred. • apply vi derm spf 50+ sunscreen, even if it is not a sunny day. reapply throughout the day. evening • cleanse the skin. rinse with cool water and pat dry. apply post-treatment repair cream as needed. • after day 7, you may resume your normal skincare routine. for the biggest benefit from your vi peel treatment, we recommend continuing with the vi derm cleanser and spf 50+, in addition to incorporating other skincare essentials from the vi derm line.
● aftercare tips: • the level of peeling may vary from flaking to heavy peeling. you will peel as much as your skin needs to peel. • your skin may experience slight irritation, itchiness, or inflammation. • dark spots may temporarily darken during the peeling process. • acne purging may be noticed as impurities are brought to the surface of the skin. • avoid sun exposure for 7 days after your vi peel treatment. • avoid rubbing, pulling, picking, and peeling the skin. this can cause irritation, scarring, and pigmentation. • avoid activities that cause excessive sweating until your peeling begins. once peeling has begun, resume your exercise routine but we recommend avoiding the sauna, hot tubs, and steam rooms until your peeling has completed on day 7. • avoid hot water when cleansing your face. • stay hydrated and drink lots of water. • after application of each towelette, wash hands with soap and water. you may resume your normal skincare routine 7 days after your peel.

● if erythema after treatment persists, use an ice pack or cool compresses at home; always use a protective barrier, such as a face cloth, between the skin and the ice pack.
● before touching your face or applying facial products, be sure to wash your hands well: there are micro-pathways opened into the dermis and hands will introduce bacteria.
● if skin feels tight or dry, apply moisturizing cream as often as desired.
● if you currently have skin breakouts, you may find that the condition may temporarily worsen due to inflammation or edema.
● do not pick at treated tissue, doing so may result in hyper- or hypopigmentation.
● avoid ultraviolet rays and apply sunblock > 50 SPF UV A/B daily.
● avoid alcohol consumption if possible.
● for 72 hours, refrain from cardio exercise or activities that increase the body temperature and cause perspiration, i.e., hot yoga, saunas, etc.
● contact your practitioner if any problems develop: concerns regarding rash, itching, erythema, etc., for more than 24 hours.

● avoid sun exposure between treatments. UV rays can bounce off of water, windows, and concrete ground.
● use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with an SPF 30+ sunblock to cover exposed, treated areas. Apply to the treated area every 2 hours when exposed to the sun and it is recommended to make this a part of your skin care routine.

● to determine if redness is lingering erythema, firmly press and release the skin and observe for blanching. If the skin blanches this is an indicator that erythema persists, and the treatment should be postponed.
